Winter Squash Harvest

Remember to let us know if you want to join the fall CSA ($50 for a small share of four weeks of fall veggies, plus $5 for our Thursday home delivery members).  And if you are a member of the UU congregation, let us know if you will be picking up at Tanglewood or at church next week (Sunday, October 5th).  Thanks!

Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 18th, at noon, for the third annual farm potluck, garlic planting, and cider pressing party!  We had a great time last year and are looking forward to this year’s party.  The rain date will be Sunday, October 26th.

We have a wonderful new WWOOFer (Worldwide Workers On Organic Farms) on the farm this week — Katie, who came up from Rhode Island via a WWOOFing experience in Hawaii.  It’s great to have an extra hand to bring in the winter squash harvest and help with fall work on the farm.

If you can’t eat your kale on any given week, remember to freeze it for winter!  Directions are in the recipe section of our website.  You’ll thank yourself come January!

Have a great week, and enjoy the first of the winter squash!
