Rain rain go away!

Hello CSAers,

In early April, when blue skies and balmy days were ours for the taking, I tentatively scheduled the start of the CSA for the week of June 10th. Now the superstitious part of me worries that my enthusiasm doomed us to an early summer of rain! As you may have guessed, like last year, we have to delay the start of the CSA by one week. The CSA will now begin the week of June 17th. It will still run for the full eighteen weeks, but with the delayed start you will receive a larger bounty and more diversity than if we start on the 10th, so we hope you agree that the delayed gratification is worth it. Keep your fingers crossed for some strong sunshine, and once the soil dries out a bit those broccoli heads and sugar snap peas will hopefully shoot right up and be ready for your first or second delivery. You can also look forward to mesclun mix, pea shoots, kale and chard bunches, spinach… it’s all in the sodden ground, weeded and tended to, and we can’t wait for it to grow a bit more to bring it to your plate.

I will send out an email next week with the specifics of each delivery site (where to park, what to bring, etc.). And I am always available via email or phone for questions. We’re so grateful for your patience and support. We really couldn’t do it without you.

Be well, and thanks,

Reba and the HCF crew
