How to “put by” your garden or CSA share

Friday, May 31st at 7pm at the First Universalist (345 Broadway, Rockland) I will teach a free class on how to “put by” the bounty of your garden or CSA share.  For those weeks when you have plenty of veggies but know you’re not going to have a chance to cook a meal, or if you’re tired of kale in July but know that you’ll appreciate it in January, come and hear my techniques for keeping your freezer stocked and your veggies fresh for as long as possible.  It’s not rocket science, but hopefully this can take the intimidation factor out of putting by your own food!  I’ll focus on freezing, dehydrating and fermenting since those are the forms of preservation that we use most in our farm’s family kitchen.  You’ll never worry about wasting a single vegetable ever again!
