Final Week of 2007 CSA!

Hello CSAers –

It’s finally here — the last week of the CSA. We’ll still be selling mesclun mix and arugula to the co-ops for another month of so, but the weekly diversity of CSA shares is now a thing of the past. It has been a very successful season for us, and we are grateful to all of you for being a part of it. And while it is hard to imagine it now, in only three and a half short months we’ll be starting seedlings for next season!! But we have a lot to do before then (build a washing and packing shed, set up a heating system in the greenhouse for seedlings, move our family to a new home…) so let’s not think about it quite yet!

We had a wonderful time last Sunday at the garlic-cider-potluck. The weather was beautiful (finally), the cider delicious, the company great, and we got all our garlic planted! Another great thing is that we finally have come to an agreement with Lee and Ib, the current owners of Meadowsweet Farm, where our fields are located. We will be purchasing their home and the fields we currently use later this month! It will be an amazing thing to live and farm in the same location, and we are very very excited.

I hope that we’ll see many of you at church and around town this winter, and we’ll be in touch in the spring to sign up for next season. We hope you loved your veggies this season — we had a great time being your farmers!

Be well,

Reba, Bill, & Eli

In this week’s delivery: Spinach, Broccoli, Beets, Carrots, Garlic (loose cloves left over from the garlic planting), Red Fingerling Potatoes (a specialty variety)
