Fall in the air

With beautiful days and cool nights it’s hard to forget that fall is on its way.  The onions will be pulled and dried this week and the leeks are finally ready (after being started in the greenhouse all the way back in February!).  And the biggest sign of fall for us is that we will be losing our wonderful apprentice and volunteer crew during the coming week or so.  Sara will be heading back to Massachusetts after next week and Carey back to San Francisco to start cooking school.  We will miss them, and their hard work and good energy!

So given that, we are looking for someone interested in making deliveries to our wholesale customers on Tuesday mornings.  We would love to have someone make the weekly series of deliveries in exchange for a fall CSA share, gas money, and all the extra veggies they want.  The round trip from our farm to Brunswick takes about 3-4 hours in total, and you would have to be able to lift boxes that weight up to 30 pounds.  Let us know if you’re interested!

We hope you’re all enjoying the bounty of end-of-summer veggies and cooking some great meals.

Have a wonderful week!

 – Reba, Bill and Eli

Week 11 veggies:  Kohlrabi, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Leeks, Cucumber, Zucchini and Zephyr Squash, Onions, Beets w/greens
