Farewell to CSA 2008!

It’s here — the final week of the summer CSA!  We hope that you all enjoyed receiving your shares as much as we enjoyed producing them.  It’s a lot of hard work and we’re ready for a break by this time of the year, but the feedback we get from you makes it all feel worthwhile.  Thank you for your support and your enjoyment of our veggies!

We hope to see all of you at the garlic planting/cider pressing/potluck party at the farm next Sunday, October 19th from noon on.  Bring apples from any old tree you can find!  Click Here for directions.

For those of you continuing on with the fall CSA, we will be starting up next week.  The greens are growing beautifully in the greenhouse and we look forward to a full fall.

A note on winter squash:  the longer you can wait before eating it, the better it will be!  The starches in the squash will turn to sugar over time, with butternut squash being the last to turn sweet but the most delicious if you can wait!  So give it at least a few weeks before digging in.

Thanks for a great season, and we’ll be in touch about next summer’s CSA in late winter!
