The greenhouse is chock full of healthy green seedlings ready to be transplanted, the apprentices have arrived, eager to get their hands in the dirt… now all we need is a little sun and warmth to get the soil ready! Next week we’ll begin harvesting spinach and arugula out of the greenhouses for the Co-ops, and in around two months these chill days will be just a memory as we deliver the first CSA shares of the season. We can’t wait!
About three-quarters of the CSA shares have been sold, so if you intend to sign up but haven’t done so yet, click here now! And if it’s been a month since your last payment installment, now is a great time to make another payment. Thank you to all of you who are paid in full! All your payments are crucial to getting the farm geared up at this time of year.
I’m still hopeful that we’ll have chicken shares (both meat and eggs) available this season, but so far I have just found a supplier for duck eggs. I don’t know how much interest in duck eggs there is, though, so please let me know if you would be interested in a duck egg share. If enough members are interested, I am happy to set it up.
If you have any questions about the farm or your CSA share, please be in touch. As the season draws nearer we’ll be sending out additional info about the pick-up locations and dates. In the meantime, though, check out the farm’s Facebook page on a regular basis for pictures and updates from the fields. You should be able to catch a glimpse of your veggies growing, read profiles of our awesome new apprentices, and see some cute baby pics of our newest calf!
We look forward to seeing – and feeding – you soon!
