Spring CSA Week Four

The final week of our first ever Spring Greens CSA has arrived!  We’re excited to start the summer CSA next week—the summer share still feels like the heart of the farm season—but we hope that you enjoyed the addition of fresh greens into your spring diet!

Everyone should have received an email this week about two new add-on shares: Raw Honey and Local Flowers! The honey share is almost sold out already (it’s a two-part share for $23 by local beekeeper Karen Carroll) but there are plenty of flower shares still available. Arla Casselman of Calico Floriculture and Design is offering the five-week flower CSA, created from what Arla grows, forages, or sources locally. The arrangements will feature rare and over-looked varieties, unique historical heirlooms, native Maine perennials, and annuals. The flower share is ONLY available to Sunday and Tuesday CSA members, and costs $67 for five deliveries. Email me or sign up online for this or any other additional shares.

Remember, if you’re not able to pick up your CSA share at the regular time and place, just come by the farm at a time that works for you! Your share will be bagged up and waiting for you in the walk-in cooler (under the white tent near the house). If by some chance there isn’t one waiting for you, just find Reba or an apprentice and they’ll put a bag together for you (like Reba is doing for a member in this picture!).

Have a great week, enjoy your greens, and take care!
