Spring and Summer CSA Start Dates

We can’t wait for the start of the CSA season!

As you can imagine, it’s been a busy spring on the farm. Undeterred by the cold and wet weather, we’re moving ahead with seeding and transplanting as much as humanly possible. The growing has definitely slowed down due to the chill, but we know that plant growth will take off as soon as we get a little warmth and sun!

We have four extremely cute new calves, and everyone is welcome to come out and visit them before the start of the season: Nowruz, Porcello, Logan, and an as-yet-unnamed cutie who is tiny, feisty, and looks like her black tail was dipped in a can of white paint. We also have two wonderful new apprentices, Cara and Michael, who are busy learning all they can about the start of a farming season.

We’re anticipating that the start of the Spring CSA will be the week of May 14th and the start of the Summer CSA will be the week of June 11th. The week before you will receive an email with details specific to your pick-up location. If you want to add another type of share in the meantime or have any questions at all, please reach out! Email, text and phone are all great ways to get in touch (all our contact info is at the bottom of this email).

If it has been a month since you made your last CSA payment, please make another payment or contact me to change your payment plan. If you are paying with EBT, I’ll have information for you at the first pick-up and your first EBT withdrawal will be in mid-June.

For those who want to try out our raw milk, you can buy milk directly from the farm in the weeks leading up to the start of the summer CSA. Milk bottles are in the fridge in the pick-up shed located next to the road. The cost is $5 per bottle (money box is on the wall), and after enjoying the milk please rinse and return the jar and lids.

There are still spaces available in the summer CSA, so tell your family and friends! We can’t wait to fill your plates with the freshest vegetables and local foods available.

Be well, and we’ll see you soon!
